Diversity and Inclusion Statement

ARISA Foundation is a not-for-profit research and social work organisation driven by the belief that the integration of the arts and sciences can lead to profound advancements in academic research, preservation of cultural heritage, and positive social change.

ARISA is dedicated to fostering an environment of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) – we believe that embracing diversity in all its forms is essential for driving innovation, promoting holistic social progress, and creating a vibrant, just, and inclusive society. 

Our commitment to DEI is embedded in our organizational values, and we strive to create an inclusive space where individuals from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, socioeconomic status, and religion, are celebrated and respected, fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and open dialogue. We actively work towards breaking down barriers and promoting equal opportunities for all, especially for those (traditionally) under-represented, ensuring that every individual has a fair and equitable chance to engage with and contribute to the arts and sciences.

In our research and public engagement initiatives, we aim to provide inclusive access to the arts and sciences for individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of their socioeconomic status or geographic location. We are committed to removing physical, social, and financial barriers that limit participation and engagement, and we strive to make our spaces, programmes, and resources accessible to everyone.

We recognize that our journey towards achieving true DEI is ongoing and requires constant introspection, learning, and adaptation. We commit to regularly evaluating our practices, policies, and programs to identify and rectify any biases or gaps, ensuring that our work is driven by equity and justice.
